That's right! We've been home about 6 days now and I'm finally getting around to posting about our trip. We went to the Mayan Riveria for a week during the week of American Thanksgiving. We left our kids in the great care of my older sister and headed off. Marc's parents were already there and we invited my mom to come with us also. Since it's cheaper to go as a couple, she invited my older brother to come with her. For the most part, we're glad he came :) J/K Ryan. It was a pretty lazy week. We laid on the beach, played some beach volleyball, a little frisbee in the pool, watched a few good shows at the resort and we had our first experience scuba diving in the ocean. On Thanksgiving Day, we did two dives in a small town called Akumal. The water was perfect. We even saw a few sea turtles. We went down about 90 feet. We also went parasailing. I thought it would be scary being up 300 feet but it's actually really laid back. It was a great break but it's been a crazy week trying to catch up. By the time we got home, my sister was all done watching our kids and we headed down to get them. It was great to go without them but we sure did miss them. On the flight out, a young couple sat next to me with a one year old and I requested a seat change. I'd just gotten rid of my kids for week, no way was I sitting by a one year old for a 5 hour flight. :)
So, we've now seen Santa yesterday and Aden is staying true to what he asked Santa for in his letter-thank goodness! Aden sang Once there was a Snowman and Linc did the actions for Marc's School of Social Work Christmas party. Lincoln was terrified of sitting on Santa's lap but maybe next year. Linc has a dancing reindeer that sings Jingle Bells that he loves to dance along with. I'll to figure out how to upload the video. We'll be headed to Idaho in a few weeks for a few days before Christmas and then we'll be in Calgary for Christmas day and bit after. Pat's, Marc's younger brother, comes home Dec. 31st from his mission so we're excited to see him!
One last thing for the memory book. Lincoln still doesn't talk very much although he did learn how to say Amber "Umber" while we were gone and she was watching him, he also will "sing", no words-just noises to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We'll try to record it soon. Well, that's all for now in Gilchrist news.
