Graduation and life
posted by Brooke on 3 May 2009

Marc did it!  He graduated on April 24, 2009 with his Masters in Social Work.  My mom's brother passed away a few days before so with that and graduation, we had a lot of family in town.  Thanks to all you made it.  We are now in the process of looking for jobs-it's more than a little scary to be all grown up and having to find work but hopefully something will come along soon.

Marc also has his citizenship interview May 20th so hopefully he'll pass the test!

He did have one job offer so far in Ely, Nevada. It's a very small town in the middle of central Nevada at a boys ranch for troubled youth.  He would be one of the therapists there.  There are still some things that need to be worked out so we're still looking into things but we'll see.

Lincoln turned 2 on April 28th!  He weighs in at 20 lbs 6 oz.  He's pretty little with most people thinking he's about 14 months old.  They think he runs so well for his age :)  We've had a bit of a struggle the last week with potty training. He was doing so well but lately he's been forgetting to let us know he has to go so we've had a few more accidents.  I'll be getting his 2 year old pictures this week so those will be posted soon.

My sister Traci has decided that she's done being pregnant. Not really, but her body has.  She started going into labor about a week ago-she was 26 weeks along.  She was admitted to the hospital and will stay there on bed rest to hopefully make it until at least 31 weeks although her dr. thinks that would be pretty amazing.  She probably won't make it that far.  We're hoping she at least makes it another week to 28 weeks-that's how far along she was when she had Jaxson. We visited her yesterday and she was in good spirits but definitely not liking being in the hospital.

So...we'll see what the future hold for us.  We're not sure where we'll end up but we're praying Marc does find a job soon.

Hey Guys,

Let us know how the job hunt goes, life in nowhere land would certainly be an experience to say the least.

And let us know how the citizenship interview goes and what kind of a timeline would still be needed after that point.

It was an awesome event!! We are extremely proud as your parents and family. I loved my 10-days or so down in Utah, especially since we had so many things to celebrate and participate in - between graduation, Lincoln's party with Brooke's parents, cousins and aunt, reconnecting with Natalie, time with the grandchildren and their folks plus BYU women's conference with 2 Calgary friends (Marylee and Karla) plus a new friend Sue Ellen.
I never knew it took so many people to entertain me. Just kidding:)
Love and kisses and again Congratulations!!!!

I'm so proud of you! Great job and well done. I'm sure that where ever you end up with a job, you'll learn to love that place as well as the places you've lived so far. You have a wonderful looking family. Love ya, Gma Cindy
