Girls Weekend

This last weekend was the official "Girls Weekend."  My mom, three sisters and I all met upin Layton, Utah on Friday night. We got a hotel room, ordered pizza, soaked in the hottub and then stayedup way  to late watching amovie.  Being the dedicatedshoppers that we are, we were up at 6am so that we could hit all of the reallygood deals at, you guessed it, garage sales! I really shouldn't have brought myvan.  I came home with itcompletely full but we found some great stuff.  Good thing mom had her truck as well, because it was chuckfull also.  The great thing aboutstarting at 7am is that by 11:30am, we were all done garage saling and it wasoff to lunch.  What girls weekendwould be complete without a little clothes shopping and I think everyone found something.  Then we went to Mama Mia.  It was hilarious.   My cheeks hurt from laughing sohard.  The only downside is that weonly snapped one picture the entire weekend so here it is.  Traci-6 months pregnant, me, Holly with her... I'm pleased to announce the arrival of Jaxson Daniel-grandbaby number 9 on my parents' side. That's right, Traci had her baby breaking the tie we had going of 4 granddaughers and 4 grandsons.  Now, the boys are in the lead.

So, I headed up to Soda this past weekend, the 13th, the attend my baby sister's, Traci's baby shower.  All my sisters arrived Friday night to get things ready for not one but two showers on Saturday-a friend one and a family one.  I'm sure Traci has her own version of the story so I'll try to be brief.  She got to my mom's about 8:30pm.  Everyone else was already there.  She was having some pains but not bad enough she couldn't talk through but still pretty regular.  At 9pm, Amber and I decided to time them.  They were coming about every 2-3min.  My mom was convinced they were false labor and we weren't sure either.  After about 30 min, we decided to call the hospital.  They said she was probably dehydrated and lots of water and a warm bath should make them stop since she was only 27 weeks along. Marc has been gone the last two days camping with work in Zions National Park so I've been a single parent. Sometimes (more often that not) the last two days have felt long. J The one positive is that it makes me appreciate all he does when he is here.

 I also wanted to write down for memories' sake something Aden said the other day as we were walking home  from preschool.

 A: "Mom, I want to live in this town when I grow up so I don't have to travel far to see grandma and grandpa."

Me:  But Aden your grandma and grandpa don't live in this town.

A: Not my grandma and grandpa, mom, my kid's grandma and grandpa.

Me: Oh, so you want to live where I live.

A: Yeah...(then after thinking for a minute) but I'll have check with my wife first."

Anyway, it was really cute.  I took some pictures of Lincoln enjoying his first smoothie a few days ago but atlas, Marc has the camera and the pictures aren't downloaded so that will have to wait until he gets back.  Also if anyone has any ideas of what to get... (click here to read the rest)
